Horses are a very special type of animal. They provide work, entertainment, comfort, and love. They give without taking (except for the occasional apple/carrot in your hand), and they give some lucky few a lifetime of enjoyment and companionship. Then there are horses who have performed miraculous feats in order to keep their owner (or others) from harm and sometimes even save their own life. These everyday horses are the ones you might not read about in history books, but you might read about them in the newspaper. They came to the rescue when the time called for it and acted selflessly with bravery and determination.
